Day Two and Three:
The second and third day of the tour will take us to some of the other major medieval monastic sites in Norfolk.
A coach will visit Binham Priory in the north of the county and, in the afternoon, Little Walsingham, renowned as a place of Christian
Pilgrimage since the 11th century. This will be followed by a trip to the priory and castle ruins of Castle Acre.
A coach excursion will visit the Norfolk Broads and will include Ranworth Church with its celebrated painted screen.
The famous Ranworth Psalter, notable for its illuminations, is also on display in the church. A magnificent view of the surrounding area can be seen from the top of the church tower.
There will also be an opportunity to visit Ranworth Nature Reserve and Ranworth Broad.
Exploration of the Broads area will be completed by a visit to the site of St. Benet’s Abbey, making the final approach by boat.
One of the highlights of the tour will be an evening dinner in the medieval surroundings of Dragon Hall, a grand merchant’s house of 14th and 15th century date. Dinner will be preceded by a tour of the complex.
